We suggest you book your accommodation in Paihia (which includes Waitangi) as motels in the smaller town of Russell are already heavily booked.
Note that some moteliers might demand a minimum stay of five nights at that time of year. The required deposit is generally small, but you need to make reservations to avoid the holiday rush.
The Copthorne Waitangi is probably the best starting point for making a booking, if you only intend to stay for the wedding weekend.
A further consideration is to find accommodation within walking distance of the wharf in either town. We are hoping to provide launch transport between Paihia, Russell and the Wedding to eliminate the need for people to drive.
